I had to go on a trip and 13 yo girl messed up. She joined a bad crowd, did some wrong stuff . When I came back she apologized and said she gave in to bad friends and acting wothout thinking decided to experiment some freedom. She agreed what she did was wrong. During my trip she didn't wear a bra and this is a point of conflict. She doesnt like bras and I make her wear cause she really needs and I worry about modesty, shes almost a C cup . She even gave hers away. I grounded for about a month, she obeyed without any rebellion, she knew she was wrong. I got her new bras exactly how I think hers should be, comfortable but w/ much support, full coverage, 4 hooks in the back. She doesnt like but she she didnt complain. He grounding was not bad, I treated her with love, we went out together and talked a lot. Sunday I told her she was forgiven and she got kinda grateful. But I'll keep her in those bras, taking advantage of the fact she's grateful and wont rebe, so she'll get used to them.

In the begining of getting a bra I don't think that any girl really likes it. I don't like the stap on bras so my mom always gets the sports ones. You should try to get ones that she would feel comfortable with. Like buy different types to see what she likes better. And maybe grounding for a month was a bit too much. She's just getting use to it so don't be so strict. And at least she told you that she didn't wear them.

The kid already asked this question last week... and I will repeat my answer: I used to get beaten with a frying pan so I think this is a fair and just punishment. She KNEW she was breaking the rules and that there would be consequences. I don't feel one bit bad for her. In fact, I think she is getting off rather easy. Keep on working to raise a respectable kid mom, you're doing well so far.
As for everyone suggesting you get her a pretty bra, etc... last time I checked the kid was 13. When you're 13 you wear what your parents buy for you to wear. Unless you're buying it yourself, you really don't have a whole lot of say. Perhaps you two could go together to find one that is more comfortable for her (in plain, functional white only) but you should stick to your guns on this one. Lacey bras only make girls want to show them off.

why does this story sound so familiar??
anyway...i see nothing wrong with a 13 year old wearing a bra. as for forcing her to...that's kind of mean. i mean, i developed a bit early and i always wore a bra, but that was b/c i needed the support. if she has perky ones that stay up, then maybe she doesn't always need a bra.
or maybe you could let her pick out some bras. she's 13 not 80. maybe she can find some that are flowery or lacey...something to make her feel pretty.
i used to bawl everytime i went bra shopping b/c i hate them and i hated my large chest. please don't make this traumatic for your daughter.
i had a reduction a few years ago and i couldn't be happier. i love being able to wear cute and comfy bras!!
take care.

i think that when u have teenagers u need to really choose ur battles. there is just so many issues out there. i think the type of undergarments she wears should be her decision. its just such a personal thing even for a 13 year old.
so r u saying that the worst thing she did while u was gone was go without a bra.
my mom wouldn't let me use tampons as a teenager. so i used to sneak them. how do u know if ur daughters bra is not coming off when u r not around.
i say relax a little.

If you want her to wear the bras let her pick out some cute ones! Even though no one will see it but her, girls still like cute bras. Old ppl wear bras with 4 hooks in the back!! They don't have to be from Victoria Secret....go to Kohl's or JCPenny's they have some cute cheap ones...(especially Kohls)

If your daughter has had problems, with boys, I think its definitely a good thing that she wears a bra in public. I don't know exactly what your question is, but if you think you are doing the right thing, and she is going to "lash out" or anything, then just keep it up.

I didn't like wearing bras when I was that age either and I still don't I am 21 now. But she shouldn't of given them away. At thirteen she is coming in to her own person. Tell her if she does not wear her bras her boobs are going to sag and the only thing that is going to fix that later is a boob job and tell her she would have to wait till she is out of the house before she could get one of those. Maybe that will scare her.

No, I dont think you're strict. You're not forcing her to do anything bad or embarrasing. In my opinion, you should talk to her about the point of wearing bras, and take her with you when you're going shopping, that way she can choose hers. It seems that your dauther is a good girl and will eventually understand so dont scold her, dont yell at her. Talk to her and try to explain also that with that size of breast, if she doesnt wear bras, she might look nasty.

It sounds like she's genuinely remorseful for what she did. And a C cup is big enough to need a bra, but maybe you could let her pick out her own bras? Those things are awfully uncomfortable for us "well-endowed" gals and maybe she'll be more likely to wear one if she can find one that's comfortable.
