In the U S a brick mason was an exceptional career until just recently when the market has been flooded by Mexican imports that have driven the earnings down to an all time low--- the added competition in the market willing to work at considerably less pay has literally put a number of long established businesses out of service !!! Investigate this carefully before you get into something that may have already run its course !!!

Definitely. Brickies are well sought after, what with the demand for houses these days, therefore get a good wage. Although I do hear there's quite a waiting list for courses/apprenticeships, so better get your name down quick! Good luck!

If you own your own business, sure. If you are just a laborer, you may get decent pay, but at the same time you will have to compete with illegal immigrants who will be willing to work for peanuts. Which reminds me, I hope you know a bit of Spanish or Portugese.
