I am starting to see an increase of bumper stickers and those suction cup signs that say "Baby on Board" or "Child in Car" or even the license plate frame I saw today- "CAUTION: Grandchildren Inside Car"
Do people who use these signs really think that people are going to drive more carefully because your child is near by? And are they suggesting that its OK for me to drive any way I want to at all other times except for when I am near your car?

I did once when a woman in a ford-a-saurus had one and went barreling down the highway entrance ramp (to pass me on the left) while talking on her cellular phone and then cut me off. She had a baby on board sign- at that moment i decided that no ones children are more important than me, and if they're driving properly i won't have to change my driving habits to protect their children from harm.

Whereas the signs aren't something I pay a lot of attention to, the fact that I now have 10 grandchildren from 2 to 13 has certainly made me more cautious as a driver (I was a real hoon). I think having little kids around makes most people act a bit more responsibly. By the nature of your question, it's safe to assume you haven't got kids, so you can't understand the feeling you have or get, hopefully you will once you have your own. But I would think that the signs would be noticed by some and if that saves just one life then it's worth it.

My heavens, I never have been flashed, but I did unintentionally flash a few folks once. I was in the hospital some time back and decided to take a stoll to the vending area. Well, I wasn't thinking about what I was wearing and, let's just say that those hospital gowns don't leave a lot to the imagination on the backside. The nurse came up from behind me and put a blanket over my shoulders . . . I was wondering why it was a little drafty back there!

No - I hate those stupid signs. Having anything like that plastered all over a vehicle looks hideous and trashy.

Those signs are completely retarded. I don't adjust my driving for them, and I have never noticed anyone else do it either.
