Your sister is selfish..your parents come before money.

I say worry about the resale value later and concentrate on mom's comfort now.

What is it with people and resale values? Doesn't anyone ever consider home to be HOME anymore, without picturing the responses of future open house attendees?

Okay, on a more practical note, a lot of homes have the laundry room on the first floor or even in the basement. It's not that big of a deal, or that big of a turnoff.

I'm with you on that. I'm sure your parents would have done the same for any of you if you or your siblings had a physical condition. They would want to make life easier for you. I'm sure the resale value of the house wouldn't of been a factor to them.

Make your parents more comfortable. Help them have good quality of life. Don't let the thought of money come between family.

Doesn't your sister have any compassion? Definitely do what comfortable for your parents. Your sister is talking like their dead already and is selling the house! You can always move it back later if need be.
