Normally most stores will run the check through a second time. If, it not go they charge you a Bounced Check Fee, most have a sign show this. The Bank of course charge an NSF (Non-Sufficient Fund) charge every time. If, you not pay the store, they turn you over to the Prosecuting Attorney and they take you to court, and of course, the Court make money off you too. So, you basically out the Bank Charges, Store Charges and Court Cost. Everyone make money, except you, you lose more and more. If, you not pay the Fines and Fees then they get you for contempt of court and send you to jail where Bubba take good care of your Booty Hole.

You could get arrested if the stores choose to press charges. Just call the stores where the checks were bounced and explain your situation. They are going to want to clear it up with you instead of take you to court. You should be able to go directly to the store you wrote the check to and pay them, or they might use a check cashing clearing house that will send you a bill and you send them a money order. I had the same problem about 2 years ago when my husband and I had 2 joint accounts at the same bank and closed one, but kept the other. I got the checks all confused also.

Don't worry, just call the stores and get it taken care of asap. You won't go to jail if you show it was an honest mistake and want to clear it up. Don't sweat it!!!!
