my baby is not quite 5 months old. 16.4 pounds. she's eating stage 1 foods. she is still nursing, and i am also feeding her gerber vegetables occassionally. she loves them. she's only been eating them for about 2 weeks...and not everyday. now she eats an entire container full of whichever veggie i give her...and rather quickly i might add.

is one container considered a serving? how many "servings" would you give a child at this age?

At that age a couple of spoonfulls is a serving.
Breastmilk should continue to be the main source of her nutrition for the entire first year.
The solids are really more for fun and practice at this age than anything else.

My baby eats a full container 3.5 ounces. Mine is about 16.5 pounds and we are still nursing as well.

You can start at one container a day, work up to two container meals and then add a third if you baby will eat it. I don't know about your baby, but mine screams for her food. LOL

your baby will let you know when she doesnt want anymore. I was never concerned about serving sizes as long as she was eating something.
