I downloaded IE 7 from the Microsoft website and had nothing but problems with it. Go to Control Panel....Add/Remove Programs and uninstall IE 7.0. Reboot your computer and IE 6 will reinstall itself. You just have to keep an eye on downloading Windows updates, because IE 7.0 will attempt to put itself back on your computer. However, once I hid that update, I haven't had any problems with IE 7.0 trying to re-install.

I have read many post concerning popups with IE7 after downloading from YAHOO. I have IE7 and have not experienced the popup issue. I do not know if there is a connection to Yahoo or not. I downloaded IE7 from the Microsoft site. You can try the 2 programs to scan for spyware/adaware and add the 3rd one to prevent it.

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php

Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

You can delete IE7 by using your Add and Remove Programs. Your previous version will be back.

Actually, IE7 is VERY prone to pop-ups, and the way it is "written" or "programmed", some Anti-Virus, or Spyware programs can interperet some of those downloads to the browser as that. However, you should be able to go to Control Panel > Add Remove Programs, and IE7 should be listed there. I wouldn't even bother with IE7. I never downloaded it when my PC said the update was ready for it. I've used Firefox for over a year now, and Firefox 2.01 is by far, in my opinion, the best browser for a Windows-based PC. Microsoft blows. Leave it to Gates to add "a new and improved version"....that ends up f*cking with your PC and really screwing it up ROYALLY.

IE sucks. why use it when u have Firefox which is by far the best i've came along. I've been using it for 2 years now & it keeps getting better. Just uninstall ie7 from control panel, & don't forget to remove all those additional toolbars too. They eat up your bandwidth & consume displayable browsing space on ie which drives me crazy.
after doing that, turning off your automatic windows upgrades is also a good thing. Just make sure your windows firewall is ON, & your pc is safe from internet threats.

Calm down and uninstall IE7 by clicking on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and the Show updates box at the top. When the list loads, find IE7 and click to remove it. After removal, close control panel and restart the computer. IE6 will be back and your blood pressure will go down.

IE7 is not the source of popups. Your browser has been hijacked. Try HijackThis:
