If the water is body temperature... which is no fun. You don't want to take the chance of raising your internal body temperature. Stay away from standing hot water for the duration of your pregnancy, It sucks, because baths would be heavenly precisely at this time, but dangerous to the baby.

Bubble bath is fine as long as the water is warm and not hot. Also i heard something like you should only stay in the bath for no more than 10 minutes, not sure if that's true but i never listen to that. Just make sure the water is a good temp. The bath will totally relax you and help with back pain.

some say no, some say yes

you just have to be very careful because it can cause yeast infections, UTI's, ect. If you are prone to any of these then bubble baths should be avoided even if you arent pregnant. do not get the water above 100 degrees either.

i am 22 weeks and i take a good relaxing bubble bath at least weekly.

Yes. as long as your water has not broken yet you should be fine. After your water has broken then they say no baths to avoid water going up and causing infections.
Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. I refer to it almost daily right now and I am due Feb 2, 2007. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Yes as long as you are not bleeding or your water has broken. Just be careful not to sit to long, get the water too hot, and be sure to rinse with clean water afterwards. Pregnancy makes women even more prone to vaginal infections and if you read the side of the bubbles it says may cause vaginal infections if prolonged contact. So rinse good.

"So, is a hot bath safer than using a hot tub?
A hot bath, which is not uncomfortable or scalding, is a safer way to relax. In a bath much of your upper body will remain out of the water, making you less likely to overheat. Additionally, the water in a bath begins to cool off, as opposed to a hot tub, further reducing any risk of overheating. "

yeah u can. U can just about do anything. There's no way the bath water can touch ur baby. There's some kind of wall closing that area when u become preg.. I can't remember what its called but yeah.

oh yes. i'm actually about to pop in the tub right now on account of i'm so gassy and bloated i feel like i might explode. sorry tmi :-). anyway i wouldn't worry about the bath stuff. menthol is ok as long as it's not in cigarette form of course. but like everyone else said get out if the heat becomes uncomfortable! congrats!

Yes. The only reason you shouldn't take a tub bath is if your doctor or midwife tells you not to or if your water breaks.
