Varies from company to company. There is no real law about it. Ask your HR person.
20 holidays! Wow! Most companies give 7-10 so you are lucky there!

No its worked out on a pro rata basis,
work the whole year and 20 days are yours.
You are entitled to (3/12)*20=5 days of between 1 January and 31 March.
That said speak to HR in your company, they will know best.

Yes, being on maternity is like being at work without all the hassle of going and working.

This might be useless to you but I live in the UK and according to my HR department I was entitled to my 5 weeks paid leave as well as matertity leave. My company is not the sort to give out free holidays out of the goodness of their heart either so I am betting it is the law.

Whilst on maternity leave you still accrue holiday, so you should be entitled to the full lot. Well that's how it works at my work place.

Yes. As you're are still an employee, your rights and benefits remain the same (though not necessarily your pay, unfortunately!) All the holiday to take in half the time.... But you'll need it, working through pregnancy can be damn hard!

Speak to the HR person. Some companies will others won't. If you are talking about vacation time, then you would have to work that out with the HR person as well. I think that it would be best just to go staight to the source.
