When was the last time Eastenders had a fun, cheerful storyline (if ever)? Are there any long term happy marriages/relationships in Eastenders? If you watch EE, do you think the continually depressing atmosphere of the programme affects your outlook on life? Do you actually believe EE represents the real world?

I do agree that it is pretty miserable, but I still love it. It makes my life seem peachy.

EE is just a programme and the stars in it just follow the script, althought I do vagree if it is supposed to reflect on real everyday life why does someone always die at christmas? I have watched EE since it began and i've never known there be a happy cheerful christmas on the square.

I think that the last time there was an enjoyable episode was when Billy and Honey attempted to get married, again! Although it was then ruined in the following episode when we found out that the baby had downs! But Honey giving birth was one of the funniest episodes ever! When she kept asking for an epidoodle!

Of course it reflects reality. That is what Londerners are like, all chirpy cockneys during the blitz, now really miserable, with only the sky high value of their property to compensate for living in a crowded and poluted rat hole. What they need is a good ole knees up. I went to London village once, it was 'orrible, full of rude people pushing on the tube and the price of beer was awful.

I am well browned off about eastenders being cancelled, especially as every tv programme was covering the same brown stuff; some of us need our light entertainment :-(

I like Eastenders the way it is. If you want fun story lines watch some of the other soaps. It caters to its viewers and we like it and it dosn't depress me, I enjoy all the drama, and gritty storylines

i think all soap operas should be banned, they do not always reflect real life, there is far too many soaps on t.v.people always complain if there is live sport put on instead of a soap, script writers ,please get out more and look at the real world ,people do laugh and do not live in a depressing world.

EE is mega depressing... Pauline Fowler used to grate on my nerves so much, sour-faced old bat... who knows? Maybe it'll lighten up a bit now she's gone! ....Or not!!!
