Several of the casinos now have roller-coasters and amusement parks (MGM Grand, Circus Circus, New York), but I still have never taken my kids. It's just not a kid place. And, yes, they can go into a casino, but they can't hang out while you gamble or anything. You can pretty much just pass through with them on your way to a restaurant or whatever.

I was just in Vegas. Kids are not allowed to hang around on the casino floor, but they have it set up so you have to walk through the casinos to get to your rooms. We were there for 6 days and I didn't do or see half of what I wanted!

As far as stuff to do: Circus Circus has an arcade and mini amusement park inside - even a roller coaster. Other hotels with Coasters include NY, NY, the Sahara, and the Stratosphere has some cool rides at the top.

If you or the kids are into Star Trek, there's a cool thing at the Hilton. The fountains in front of the Bellagio go off every 15 minutes and are set to music. Walking inside Cesaer's, they have a living statue show, and in the middle of their shopping area, there is a animatronic type of Poseidon show, and it sits atop a huge aquarium. When I was there, there was a cool horse show at the Rio. The Excalibur has nightly jousting at dinner.

All the hotels are just great to walk around inside. You can go to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. There are magic shows with world class magicians and animals.

Lots to do and if the weather is nice, the pools in most hotels are goreous. Plus there are tours to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam that are highly recommended by anyone who has done them.

Ive been going to vegas since i was 5 im 17 now and im in the casinos all the time. The rule is that children under18 have to be with their parents but they are alloud inside. They can not watch you play and they can not touch any of the machines or tables. they also cannot sit in the chairs. there is usually a change in carpet color or like a road of a different color in which the casino would like the children to stay on. keep little children next to you and hold their hand a little older children should still not be out of your site unless in the bathroom and even then try to keep an eye on them

Who am I is right: Vegas is not a family destination. Can you change your plans? That would be my advice!

Otherwise, take them to NYNY they have a great roller coaster and a huge video game area. Then go to Circus Circus and hang out with all the other parents who took their kids too!

Stratosphere has a couple rides on the top of it they will like. Wet n wild won't be open so skip that. Then you will have to take them on a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon because you will be dying for something else to do.

I was there with my daughter in August (she is nine). We stayed at the Venetian and had the most wonderful time! She was not allowed to stop in the casinos, we just passed through. We did lots of sight seeing, went to M&M world, and my daugher was serenaded by our gondoleer. She doesn't want me to go back to Vegas without her! :) Next time we want to see the Blue Man Group and some other shows.

I have been going to Vegas since the late 50's. Although many of the hotels now cater to kids, it is not a place to take take them. EVERYTHING for kids to do in Vegas is designed to take the money out of your wallet. No matter what the hype, Vegas is only for adults.

If you insist on taking your kids there, look outside of the town for them. Lake Meade & the dam, Mount Charleston, The Valley of Fire. They are all beautiful and all different. Bring your camera.

I was just there, lots of people had kids with them in the casinos...they just can't gamble themselves.

Don't know about keeping them occupied....I like to go to Vegas for "adult" vacations, Disney or the like for "family" vacations.

--- EDIT ---

Your kids can go in most casinos, they just can't sit at the tables.

MGM does not have an amusement park. They closed that about 5 years ago. Next door is a gameworks. Video and arcade amusements. Circus Circus has the indoor thrill park.

Can not Have Chilren, under 21, loitering around gaming machines. If secruity is tight, i have seen them remove nursing mothers

Communist and socialist. Wow. Some kids of my generation are so stupid. :( That's their parents decision. If their parents make that much money, good. Making money is not a sin! Unfair?! What has it done to affect your life? Class divisions! Hahahaha!! Wow. This is hilarious! God bless

No, most casinos require you to be 18.
