You need to start by cutting out foods you know are not healthy. (Chips, pop, icecream, cookies, cakes, hotdogs, frenchfries, chocolate.)and start eating healthy foods/snacks(chicken,fish,veggies,some dairy products, fruit, and 8 glasses of water/day). You also need to get out more and workout, walking, biking, running around school track, basketball, swimming at local YMCA or something..doing crunches, and lifting some weights. It does take time, which you have alot of...and will build your self esteem when you start to feel better and look better with yourself. As soon as you change your eating habits...you will lose weight but you need to exercise to get the fat turned into muscle.
I would just ask this person out the way you are...go to a movie or for lunch somewhere...but Watch What You Eat and Exercise everyday. (not extensively..but everyday) Good Luck*

First off:
-don't take any pills, don't take any "fast acting" stuff, and don't starve yourself, no girl is worth that.
Try jogging or running or doing some other exercises. I lost a ton of fat going to my school's weight room two to three times a week and doing an all around workout. Start slowly, you've got time. Plus, you'll hit your growth spurt (if you haven't already) and you'll lose some weight that way.
Also, stick to healthy food and lay off the junk stuff. Take only one helping instead of two.
It works, even if its slower than starving yourself.
