The US supports Israel because it is important to have some form of democratic government in the Middle East. Compare the conviction of a Jewish settler for the murder of four Palestinians, with the glorification of the murderers of Israeli citizens by rockets and suicide bombers.

Israel is the only Jewish state in the whole world. The Arabs have 22 states. The Arabs are not wiling to accept a Jewish state in their midst.

Is it your position that Israel is quietly (shhhhh) stealing USA's wealth? Well, if it's quiet, how come the Christian Science Monitor knows? And, I wouldn't go to the Monitor for sourcing anyway.

Israel is America's ONLY friend in the Middle East. The other Arab states only tolerate America because of it's aid. Others such as Syria are openly hostile regardless. There is a price to be paid for everything. In the world there is no "free" lunch. The US has a vested long term interest in the survival of Israel. Thomas Stauffer is in my opinion is just slightly above retarded. Everything in his article is pointed out as having a net drain on the US economy. How the hell can private funds spent anyway that money holder wants a net drain on the economy? Stauffer has to prove that to me in black and white how this possible. The sharing of technology back and forth between Israel and the US is a benefit to both US and Israel. If we allow the Arabs to eliminate Israel as a state or worse..........America will lose forever it's much needed foothold and only ally in the Middle East when the s**t hits the fan and Israel is in danger of being eliminated completely. Hitler tried once.......the US and Israel vowed never again. If money is what it takes to prevent this from happening again............ then so be it. It isn't Israel stealing money from our children, just them trying to ensure their survival in a very hostile part of the world.

Best investment we have ever made instead of spending 40 years and god knows how much obsessed, with Israel, they would have spent all that time and money obsessed with us.
