I know that I was born gay and that it no one can "become" homosexual. However, why we are born gay and what causes it is something I am still in the dark about and so are many other people. I wouldn't rule anything out, because none of us are experts on the subject, although we would all like to think we are. I guess it is possible that more people could be evolving into homosexuals. For what reason, I do not know. Maybe this is how God plans to end the world.

-I don't mean to offend anyone with my response, and I'm not by any means trying to disrespect gays, after all, I am one! I tend to have some pretty radical and off the wall ideas sometimes. Don't take it personally. I say this because I know many of you would have.

I don't think someone can be made to become more or less gay. I say "more or less gay" for a reason, because that's probably the best way to think about it. Everyone's a little gay and a little straight, it's just to what extent are you gay or straight.

Probably the best depiction of what I mean was in a young adult story called "Am I Blue?" Basically a young gay teenager was given the gift to see whether people were gay by seeing gay people as colored blue. Basically he found that everyone was somewhat blue. It's all shades of blue.

We are all exposed to be free... that's the point! Everyone has the right to feel and like whatever it comes, buy many people are afraid of what they have never explored. It doesn't mean we all can or shall "become" bisexual or homosexual people... it just means that when we finally get near the possibility of being totally free, we can surprise of ourselves...

I think that it's only a problem when people fear their sexuality.

Kinsey and a lot of other sex researchers (unless I missed the boat) found that many people hover in between the extremes of sexual orientation and a variety of factors can push you in either direction at any given time/point in your life.

As I said in another post there is research to support the idea that sexual relationships can blossom out of long standing friendships irrespective of sexual orientation.

Cheers :)

It is becoming more "okay" to be homosexual, but I don't think we're all suddenly going to wake up and decide we're gay. If one believes that we evolved from other primates, one may also reason that our sexual preferences may be similar to them. Many monkeys are *not* monogamous; they are also very allowing when it comes to sexual activities. Multiple partners of both genders, doing whatever, however.

I'm not equating homosexuality to being "like monkeys;" I'm just saying that our sexual "looseness" could be attributed to evolution, and our (very distant) ancestors.

You are a good, sensitive, thinking person to ask this question, and in this way. Yes, we all have homosexual impulses, but the great majority are not psychologically equipped to deal with them, and it makes them nervous (either consciously or unconsciously), and they react by becoming homophobic and remain ignorant and biased. Freud said that a good question is NOT why certain people are bisexual, BUT why ALL of us are not....

This is one of the dumbest questions I have heard... EVER!
But it is going to give me 2 points, so I will answer.

Perhaps we could break down the question 'Are we really what people think we are' into parts:
Are we? = an existential plea of group angst;
Really what = as in truly who, or very where, etc.;
People think = do they? this question makes us ask again;
We are = the final cadence to a breathy affirmation of unitary us-ness, a sort of plural 'Amen'.

Well if it happens we won't be worried about global warming. Mankind won't be around after a hundred years IF we all become true homosexuals.

Maybe that's what really happpened to the dinosaurs-- they all became homosexual.

If we all become homosexual, then the species will probably die out. Artificial insemination will never keep up w/ the natural growth rate.
