You need to know the facts, from a doctor or from a health visitor. This is not the best place for a question like this as you never know who is answering. I suggest you to to http://www.abortionfacts.com/ and find out more for yourself. Good luck whatever you decide to do and I hope you have family/friends who can help you with whatever you decide.

In the UK I beleive the deadline is 24 weeks, although that really is leaving it late as babies of that length gestation have survived outside the womb. The earlier you can have it done the better. Its a simpler procedure when carried out early.
I really wouldn't ask a question like that here though because of all the anti-abortion fanatics.
I've just had a baby (he's 5 weeks old) and although I love him to bits and feel that motherhood is a really wonderful experience there's no way I'd ever criticise anyone who felt an abortion was best for them. Everyone's situation is different and there are some circumstances, such as rape victims, where I can understand totally why an abortion might be the best option.

It's not too late in some states.
Yes, it is more painfull.......depending on how far along you are, it is a 2 or 3 day procedure....the first day (if you are accompanied by someone) you will have the option of local anesthesia... USE IT! they insert things into your cervix to get you ready for the abortion and it is VERY painful. From then untill the next day when the abortion actually takes place the cramps will be pretty bad........(i even got a slight fever and vomited)
you are given anesthesia for the procedure and when you wake up, you may feel pretty nausious, but most of the painfull cramping has subsided.
Good luck with all you do...........don't listen to those that call you a murderer, and don't get upset by it either. Only you know your circumstances..... This is a choice for you, and you alone!!!

In the UK the LEGAL limit is 24 weeks I believe. However, this is really reserved for terminating ABNORMAL pregnancies... at 26 weeks - a baby has a slim chance of SURVIVING outside the WOMB.
The NHS will help you upto 12 weeks... which I would say is NOT murder... most women don't know until they're 6-8 weeks gone & are then in turmoil with the yes/no during this first trimester, especially as their hormones are changing.
I'm currently 10 weeks gone by my ex - and am having good days where I think I can do this alone, then bad days where I think I'll not cope & ruin the life of my existing family as well as the baby's.
Go see a counsellor (as I am going to). Write a list of the pro's and con's(as I have today - and will be sleeping on tonight).. but remember that it may now be too late if you're in the UK to get help from the NHS... you may have to go private.. they'll help you but at a very HEFTY cost.
Good luck with your decision. Just make sure it's the right one for YOU... and nobody else.
god bless x

Hello, the latest time to abort a foetus is 20 weeks (although depends on where you live) after that time the foestus is known as a baby and is too large. If you are considering an abortion, then I suggest that you make your decision quickly. I could not answer whether it's sore or not but, I dont know about anyone else but the further along in yr pregnancy you do, makes the decision a lot harder to make. Good luck to you in whatever choice you make xx

Yes, you can get an abortion up to 20 weeks. It is painful after the procedure is performed. Usually, when you are that far along, they are required to sedate you and you won't remember any part of it. After wards, there are severe cramps (like menstrual cramps) and about 7 weeks of bleeding. I'm sure you didn't want to be judged by asking this question, but it seems as though some people just can't help but throw their in their two cents. This is your decision. Nobody else knows your circumstances so therefore should not judge you. Good luck to you. Don't worry about what other people think.

it is legal to have an abortion up to 24 weeks, however the further along you are, the harder it is to get one.. and the more traumatic it will be for you. I had an abortion at 7 weeks, only 2 and a half weeks ago... and I wont lie to you, It was awful. At 12 weeks, the fetus really has developed! Really research this matter carefully... don't go into this blind, or you shall regret it forever. If you need to talk more, you can email me at s a m j c 7 7 @ h o t m a i l . c o m

The latest that you can get an abortion in this country is 24 weeks, so no, it's not too late. Make sure you've thought long and hard about it as there's no going back. You have to be a very strong person to go through with it. Make sure it's the right decision for you. It is painful.

Ignore all the haters on here, think of it like this the care system is stacked up to the limit with children no one wants and selfish people waiting to adopt a newborn baby there all to selfish to have a baby who is a few years old, so your baby could go to a good home but chanced are you will have to look after the baby for a few months while they find it a good home and then it will go in to a foster home while they wait for permanent carers.
Abortion is not murder ignore the little girls and boys who says it is until they've walked in your shoes there clueless about it all,
You can get an abortion up to 24 weeks in the uk at 12 months the baby has formed but you can still do it, get your doctors now, cause at 18 weeks they start to get fussy about who they give them too and stall you for time.
And No abortion does not hurt you can asked to be put to sleep while they do it and you wont feel a thing.

PRO-CHOICE... every woman has the right to make her own decision about what to do in this matter. No-one on here even knows the situation you're in which is making you question this. You need to talk this through with your partner and your doctor. The NHS authorities are very helpful nowadays and will give you all the advice and support you both need.
Good luck with your decision and remember that not everyone out there will be so hard on you as some of the people on here have been.

It depends on the state in which you live, and yes, it would be painful, for both you and the baby. At three months, your baby looks and acts just like a tiny infant. She can suck her thumb, grasp an object placed in her palm, get the hiccups, smile, frown, swim, kick, and feel pain. You can see what she looks like here:

or go to a crisis pregnancy center for a free ultrasound (most centers either have an ultrasound machine or can arrange for you to get an ultrasound). You can find a crisis pregnancy center by calling 1-800-395-HELP or visiting:

They can give you all kinds of free help and support.
Please look at what your baby would look like after an abortion:

and read about her ability to feel pain:
