That is one question I wish I had the answer to and so does everyone else. If we knew that we could have the world.
Different forces drive different people. Something that drives me straight to my goal might not do anything for you. We (as humans) tend to set our own road blocks. We make things more difficult than they have to be. Some people are driven and carry out goals without even knowing they are doing so.
I am still searching for that driven force for myself. If I reach my life time goal I'll let you know and it might work for you too.......

baby steps.
but you can start with exercise. it gets endorphines (feel-good chemicals) flowing, gives energy, boosts confidence, and lowers depression. plus, it helps you sleep better at night, which will help get your brain into a goal-oriented frame of mind.
another thing you could do is imagine how you'll feel in a year (or 5, or 10) if you DON'T at least try to accomplish this goal. angry at yourself? angry at others? disappointed in yourself? will it let someone else down? etc.
i'd wish you luck, but you don't need any! stop reading these answers, turn off the computer, and go do it! :D

The detrmination to achieve that goal. It all depends on the priority of the goal not the driving force.

I like to set small daily goals that are manageable. This keeps me motivated and helps me see the finish line towards my goal more easily.

Sit and visualize what it will feel like when you have completed your goal. Don't stop the visualization until you physically feel the excitement, pride, etc...every time you get stuck again...do this same exercise.
