I know it's the last thing you want to hear, but you have to be patient. Babies come when they please. My son finally came at 41 weeks! He was stubborn! I had real contractions for 3-4 weeks prior to having him. and was dilated forever as well too. My doctor told me over and over, they come when they wish. Just think of it as them growing more healthy! The longer the better (as long as it's not over 42 weeks). But you are getting closer. Remember every baby is different. Plus, the normal pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. So with that, you still have a week and a half left.
Goodluck, congrats!

I swear I was in labor with my second for a week and a half. I tried everything from castor oil (was horrible and didn't work), evening primrose oil, and bumpy car rides to sex, walking, and squats. What finally did it was either the the baby just decided to come or a combination of sex, walking and bouncing. Try to have sex every night. The hormones in your hubby's semen can help ripen the cervix and if you have an orgasm, oxytocin is released and can start/strengthen contractions. Tell you hubby to make it count...lol, you won't be able to have sex for the better part of two months after (like we make it that long). Also walk at a comfortable pace as much as possible, this is not meant to be aerobic, or power-walking, just stretching out the groin muscles. If you get tired, sit or lie down, don't overdo it, it won't help. If you have one of those big balls, bounce on that, if not, grab the arm of your caouch and squat and bounce gently until you thighs get tired. The goal is to stretch the muscles, not build drumsticks. If your doctor has OK'd it, there is nipple stimulation but MAKE SURE YOU ASK YOUR DOCTOR FIRST. This can make contractions very strong and a bit more painful. My second went really quickly so don't wait too long once labor starts (like that will be a problem).
Good luck, and hurry baby hurry!

You can try walking but I think that you are mostly at the mercy of the kid. He will get here when he does. I'd just pack my bag, arrange care for son #1, and walk around the house. I'd stay close to home though just in case.

Castor oil apparently works wonders, induces baby, minging but try some. also i walked for ages, miles everyday to induce, and he came 6 days early they also say sex and curries help, but i think that's just men talking. keep walking a lot, and there is some truth behind the tea, although not sure raspberry is it... good luck x

I have heard that foot and back rubs can induce labor if they are rubbed in the right spot. Something about pressure points triggering it. Someone said up by where your foot meets the ankle is a good spot, but who knows. It couldn't hurt to try, at least you get a free rubdown! :)

1. Have Sex
2. Walking
3. Have someone massage your ankles (don't ask, for some reason they say it works, my sister-in-law had her ankles rub because she said she heard it worked and sure enough 10 mins. later her water broke.
GOOD LUCK!

actually walking more and just doing your regular activities will help things. since your water broke, gravity should start taking effect.

If you water just broke, then you're having the baby. A baby can't survive in the womb for long after your water breaks.
