Foo Fighters; more melodic, better tunes and less overrated. While I like Nirvana I'm heartily sick of hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit to the point where everything that made it amazing has been stripped from it.

Dave Grohl is just fab; he doesn't take himself too seriously (see any number of Foo Fighters videos for evidence of this) and can do completely heavy (Stacked Actors) through to acoustic/ mellow (Walking After You).

Foo Fighters all the way.

I like them both, but Nirvana is defintely my answer. They were the originals and Dave Grohl took what he learned from Cobain and incorporated it into the Foo Fighters. But without Nirvana, there would be know Foo Fighters.

haha, the guy who said the foo fighters are a bunch of no bodys is funny, considering the drummer from nirvana basicly started the foo fighters. i perfer nirvana, but i hate how everyone likes nirvana just because of cobain. they have a very similar sound though.

Nirvana, definitely. Foo Fighters are okay, but really there is no comparison.
