In an effort to check the oil, I pulled on the dipstick and the tube that it rests in fell off. So far, I have called on a couple of sources and am still waiting to hear from the dealership.
I would imagine that I would only have to replace the tube/dipstick, but one mechanic told me that replacing the cylinder block is the only recourse. That makes no sense to me; any insight would greatly appreciated!

Just put some gasket maker around the outside of the tube where it inserts into the engine.Insert it back in the hole and let it cure over night. Those tubes are usually press fitted into the block. I'm pretty sure the guy that told you to replace the block is a moron!

i believe those tube are slightly press in the lower engine block. the tube can be remove or inserted by a pair of needle nose by wiggling it back and forth.
go to a junk yard and pull one off any four cylinder honda.

If you did not brake it then it should go back in . You might need to tap it in so it will stay.
