My husband has mentiond on two occassions of us having a child together-- we've been together almost 2 yrs, married three months- he's 45, I'm 32-- we each have one child from a previous relatonship (13 y/o girl, 9 y/o boy).. after his son was born, he had a vasectomy. A couple days ago, he mentioned (and I saw him internet searching) about sperm banks-- find a donor with his heritage; then he changed his mind... I can't take the see sawing. What do I say to him; should I do research, blah blah blah? I'd love to have another child, especially with someone I love so much, but he uses different excuses after a little while-- we too old, can't afford, etc... do I give up on the idea or where do I go?

Don't even bother with a vasectomy reversal. Less than 1% of vasectomy reversals are successful. I know this because my husband recently had a vasectomy, and we had to read and sign a booklet of information before having the procedure done.

Talk to your husband. Open up the communication. If you want to have a baby, tell him. Neither of you can do anything more until you talk to each other about it.

A better option would be to talk to your doctor about extracting his sperm (via an outpatient procedure) and trying invitro fertilization. Talk to your husband, and if you both agree to move forward with plans for a child, talk to your doctor.

32 is not too old. Vasectomies are reversable. You should try talking about it more & do research together! If you go to a sperm bank he might regret it later. Maybe feel jealous that you have a child by a donor. It sounds crazy but it could happen. You could try adopting!

You have children already. If you had a child today, when that child is 16 your husband will be 61. That is too old to be having children now. He could retire at 65 with a child still in college.

Be thankful for the children that you both have. Get them through college.

He can have his vasectomy reversed. Your not too old for a baby. Tell him to look into the reversal.

Well, I'm 30 and my fiancee is 44 and we are going to start trying for a baby in the next year. You're not too old.

Has he considered having a reversal of his vasectomy?
That's another option.
