You really cannot sleep "too much" unless you are doing it through chemical means. If you do your best to set a steady schedule, get to bed roughly the same time each day and awake roughly the same time, then your body will adjust the sleep time you need and you will always awake refreshed.

yes, i understand that too much sleep is not good for you in many ways.....it does slow the metabolism.....the more sleep that you get, the more tired and lazy you feel, and the more tired and lazy you feel the more unmotivated you are....you need to put yourself on a schedule and stick to it. i am suffering from a lung disease called inerstitial pulmonary fibrosis, which over the last 2 years i've had not choice but to retire medically from my career, and it has slowed me down considerably. i do not like being disabled because now i am limited as to what i am able to do.....my point is that you have a choice....get your butt out of bed
and show some self discipline.

How much sleep are you talking about?
Sleep is manditory for life....but if you get to much, you probably become fat and lazy...no time for excersize.
But if you have been working all night, lets say 6 p.m- 4:00 a.m, i Think thats alright?

Apparently so, it makes you sluggish if you have too much cos your body gets used to it. Although you're meant to burn off calories by sleeping, so as far as I'm concerned, it's good to sleep as much as you can, within reason!

don't think it's 'bad' but if you're sleeping a lot it may be a sympton of other things - either mental of physical... everyone has different amounts of sleep they need based on their 'make up' ie: age, diet and lifestyles... if you are not active it may be something that needs medical attention..your doctor can do tests and advise if you're physically and mentally ok.....

Too much sleep makes you lazy. Your endurance goes down and your blood pressure drops making anything rigorous very tiring.

Yes because you will have lack of food and fuel and you will end up going to the restroom in your bed.
