i think you have to be careful int he first trimester with what you take.
eat lots of oranges and try some tea with honey. keep warm and get some sleep.
sorry, honey, but i wouldn't take anything in that first trimester...
congrats on being pregnant!!!!

As a nurse I advise you to clear any and all over the counter medications with your doctor first. Many contain a combination of medications so of which may not be OK to use during pregnancy. If your doctor is closed I would try a Ask a Nurse Help Line if one is available through your local hospital, the on call doctor for your doctor during the holidays or your local pharmacist who can advise a safe medication.
Good luck and feel better soon.

My doctor said I could take Tylenol, Sudafed, Robitussin or Mucinex for my colds when I was pregnant.
A steamer or vaporizer can work wonders. If you don't have one, just run the shower on hot with the door closed and stay in the bathroom for awhile. Also, get some plain saline nose drops if you are congested. You squirt into your nose, wait 10 minutes and then blow.
If you are sick to your stomach, just eat a bland diet and stay in bed and rest. Chicken broth, jello and crackers are good when your tummy is sick.

They tell me only paracetamol!! But there's also these glyceryn sweets they sell in boots that you can take too, they coat your throat if it's sore, the pharmasist there will show you them. However I don't think i'm supposed to, but i suck lockets if i'm really desperate, and they haven't done my kids any harm!! I've also been told that a natural drink of real lemon and honey mixed in cooled, boiled water is really good too, as we can't even have the lemsip!! You can also buy a natural medicine stick what you rub on your forehead (for headaches), they sell that at boots too, that's ok! and the vapour rubs are fine too! Hope you get better soon, good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!! x

First off, you should definitely call your OBGYN. When I was pregnant my doctor allowed me to take Dimetap, Benadryl, or Robitussin. It sounds like you have a severe cold so I would definitely recommend that you call a doctor fist before using any advise given to you by anyone on-line. If you don't have a doctor yet "GET ONE", in the meantime you can go to any hospital by you and be examined, especially if you have a fever. If your body temperature is to high it could have an adverse effect on your baby.
BEST ADVISE> GO TO THE DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL.
BETTER TO BE SAFE. I have 4 kids myself.

you can take tylenol regular and eat chicken soup. Other than that you cannot take anything that wont harm your baby.
Ohh you can use vicks vapor rub to help you breathe. I hope you feel better I was in the same boat at you when I was 8 weeks pregnant. It is soo critical not to take anything when you are under 12 weeks pregnant. Good LUck

Call your doc. Mine suggested Actifed or Sudafed. Any fever call the doc. Also increase fluids and use a humidifier if you have one. If you need to take anything for pain or fever use Tylenol only anything else could harm the baby.

You should really not take anything until 12 weeks. This is a crucial period in your baby's development. Try some honey and a dash of lemon juice in hot water. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

My dr gave me Alavert D12 he told me I could also take Tylenol Cold if I needed to. He said anything thats Tylenol brand should be fine. But read the labels and always ask your dr if its ok. I was sick for months and if I wouldn't have had this meds I think I wuld have died.

My doctor told me that Tylenol (Regular or Extra Strength) is safe to take for a cold (and will help to lower a fever)..but to stay away from cold medications.
Placing a humidifier in your room at night can also help you with your congestion and stuffy nose.

Paracetamol
Lemon tea with extra fresh lemon squeezed in it, and add honey, no sugar. Vitamin C tablets (just 200mg - do not overdo if you are drinking the above tea also). Keep to the natural remedies.
