I like Incan mythology, because it's the darkest of them all.
The second darkest is Norse, because there is the belief that during Ragnarok the gods will come to an end. But at least upon reaching its end, when the wolf Skoll eats the sun and the wolf Hati eats the moon, the universe will have achieved its objective: a complete cycle.
In Incan mythology, the end of the world (Pachacuti) will happen again and again. All living things are destroyed, and it's their suffering which feeds onto the next cycle. The whole purpose of creation is destruction, destruction in screamingly painful agony.
Creation is nothing but the means to that end. So the universe is circular, eternal, and meaningless.

I like the part where you have to pay the boatman. In Norse Mythology I like the one about the Hall Of The Slain.

~~~BA,,, Egyptian,,, because this is where ALL Judeo/Christian/Islamic/Hindu/Buddhist "Religions" have their foundations,,,, and the really curious thing about their Pantheon of Gods and Knowledge of the Stars and Planets,,, and their very existence,,, seem to have just suddenly appeared on the Planet. This is what I consider to be the biggest Mystery of Egypt,,, however I now ascribe to the notion of the existence of a prior civilization akin to the sinking of Atlantis called Lemuria, of which the remnants of this Ancient "Lost" Continent is the Hawaiian Islands,,, and if you study any of The Pacific Rim cultures from Easter Island and Macchu Pichu in Peru to the Mayans and AmerIndians and Eskimos ,,, and their similar mythologies and Pyramids and Astronomies,,, you will find that Egypt arose above all others, until we find more cities and pyramids in the overgrown jungles of Central and South America.
I like Norse too, but my favorite (for personal reasons) is Gnostic mythology and its denunciation of Yhvh as an evil imposter!
I used to go for Greek (because I got hold of a Harlequin Romance at an early age) and then switched over to the Egyptians.
I have no idea why really; it just appeals to me.
