Sounds like it has hurt you. Take a deep breath and think about it. Your friends told you because they trust you enough to want you in their lives completely. They respected you enough to want to be honest with you. You should be very comfortable around your best friends-nothing has changed. Look at their face when they aren't looking at you. Just steal a glance. You will see that this is the same best friend you've always had. I'm sorry that you are so stressed about this.

Because of people like the ones who have been answering your question. It has become so acceptable to be gay that it s almost abnormal just to be straight. Everyone is so obsessed with being politically correct that they don't realize. GUESS WHAT IT IS A CHOICE!!!! I have people i love very much that are gay . I still hang out with them I just let them know that as much as i love them i will never approve of what they are doing and GOD won't either. You can't just change the rule because you don't like them. All people a predisposed to a certain sin some people lie, some kill, and some are gay. notice i put lie, kill and gay all in the same categories well that is because the are all equally sins. All you can really do is pray for your friend and try to show them God love by not approving but still being there for them. Also see web sit below.
"How should I witness to a homosexual?"
Rather than offend homosexuals by directly confronting the issue of their sinful lifestyle, modern evangelism often tries to soften the approach by saying that "God hates the sin, but loves the sinner." This isn’t a new concept.
Charles Finney stated, "God is not angry merely against the sin abstracted from the sinner, but against the sinner himself. Some persons have labored hard to set up this ridiculous and absurd abstraction, and would fain make it appear that God is angry at sin, yet not at the sinner. He hates the theft, but loves the thief. He abhors adultery, but is pleased with the adulterer. Now this is supreme nonsense. The sin has no moral character apart from the sinner. The act is nothing apart from the actor. The very thing that God hates and disapproves is not the mere event—the thing done in distinction from the doer; but it is the doer himself. It grieves and displeases Him that a rational moral agent, under His government, should array himself against his own God and Father, against all that is right and just in the universe. This is the thing that offends God. The sinner himself is the direct and the only object of his anger."
So the Bible shows. God is angry with the wicked [Psalm 7:11], not with the abstract sin. If the wicked turn not, God will whet His sword—He has bent His bow and made it ready—not to shoot at the sin, but the sinner—the wicked man who has done the abominable thing. This is the only doctrine of either the Bible or of common sense on this subject" (The Guilt of Sin).
The biblical way to witness to a homosexual is not to argue with him about his lifestyle but to use the Law to bring the knowledge of sin. This will show him that he is guilty of breaking God’s holy Law, and he is damned not because of, but despite his sexual preference. The Law was made for homosexuals, as well as other lawbreakers. See Psalm 5:5 and 2 Peter 2:6–8 footnotes.

If you "don't have nuthin against it," then why are you "not feeling comfortable around them"?
It sounds like you have some mixed feelings about gay people. My suggestion is to get to know your friends as people who are gay, not as gay people.
I was a raging homophobe until I actually met a few gay people. I'm not saying every gay person is great any more than I'm saying all straight people are great. Some of them are nice and some of them are jerks.
Just judge them on a case by case basis, as you would anyone else.

You can't have fun with them anymore? Um...yes, you can. They're gay, not aliens from another planet. And by asking this question, you offended many Yahoo! users. There are people here with gay family or friends, and some are actually gay themselves.
You said you had NO problem with gay people, yet you said you wish people turning gay would stop. I have no problem with gay people 'cause they can't help who they are. They're everyday people just like you. "i dont get how do people feel good about them selves"<--That's exactly what you typed, right? Let me tell you something: They NEVER will feel good about themselves when there are people out there that bash them for being who they are.
There are thousands of sayings out there and signs that say,'Be Yourself.' Gay people are just being theirselves, right?

Honestly, the best thing you can do is be there for them. Being gay is a really hard thing. we get hated on by a lot of people, sometimes even our own parents. Hearing that a friend is gay is probably one of the hardest things to hear. It takes a while to get used to it. Leaving them high and dry is not a good idea, this is as hard for them as it is for you, if not harder, because most people don't accept it. Anyway, just give it some time and I'm sure things will get better

This is news to me! I live in a very large city and I know many people who are already gay and straight, but I don't know anyone who is turning gay...where do you live? This must be the new fashion trend in your small little town.

you dont choose to be gay. once you get to the age where you start liking people, you either begin being attracted to members of the opposite or same sex. you cant control it. do you think people would honestly choose to be something that people only make fun of and hate them for? i dont.
plus, do you ever remember waking up one day and saying to youself 'should i be gay or strait?' no, you dont. it happens, it isnt a choice.

It's happening at my school as well. I don't really care let alone think about it, but I think that people are just trying to figure out themselves because back then it wasn't okay. Sexuality was really private back then, but now people talk about it freely. Don't worry about it.

Are you sure they are "turning" gay? What makes you think that it is not the way they were born?
