I'm about to graduate and I did it in 3.5 years. (I also changed majors which hurt me a little on time) The best things that helped me is....be prepared-know the classes that you must take because sometimes the guidance people are idiots. Take more than "full load" I'm not sure how your school is but a full load is 12 hours at my school...I have always taken 18. Go to summer school you can get 2-3 things out of the way.

You can get alternatively certified, but in most states you have to enroll and obtain the degree within two years. I graduated from a college in Oklahoma two years ago w/an elementary education degree. I took an average of 18hrs/semester and went two summers and countless intersession classes and it still took me four years to finish. But I would look into getting alternatively certified and then completing your degree later.

Do you have any work or life experience? In many places you can get an emergency certification just by taking a test. It is many state's way of dealing with teacher shortages.
