Does anyone out there know where to find on the internet, step by step instructions on how to tune-up and install plugs, wires, distributor cap, points ect. on a 1984 Plymouth Voyager 2.6 litre engine?
I've looked everywhere and cannot find it. I don't have a manual and my van isnt starting, I think there is moisture somewhere thats stopping it from starting. When it does kick over for a few seconds, it sounds like it's running on 1 cylinder. Its been raining cats and dogs for days here.
I don't have anyone to help me and so I will have to figure this out on my own. I am not a mechanic and need easy to follow instructions.

Thank-you for your answers. Even though both are good answers, I still need a website to go to that has pictures. As I said, I am not a mechanic and to take a distributor cap off, I would need instructions. I can't go get a manual at this time thats why I need a website with the information.
I am a disabled woman , very little income, no family, and I have no one to ask or help me. My vehicle is my lifeline and my only form of independance. I will have to do this on my own. I can borrow tools from neighbours, but they won't actually help.
All of them have an excuse not to get their hands dirty. Money talks, I don't have the money.

it was the distributor cap, the metal points in it were all covered in a hard whitish substance, when it was scraped off the van started. I also sprayed WD40 around it like you suggested and so far so good. So the answer from whtsthislif4 was more helpful even though you didn't provide me with a link for a place that gives instructions for a tune-up. So I am awarding you with best answer. Thank-you.

Remove your distributor cap but leave all the wires attached.
Get a can of Pb-Blaster From an auto parts store. Spray it liberally in distributor getting all inside the cap wet with it. Spray the rotor too. Wd 40 will also work but I trust Pb Blaster. Then dump out the fluid and reinstall your distributor cap Then try to start it.
Water tends to find it's way into the distributor and causes the symptoms your said. Also if this fixes the problem you may want to purchase a tube of Silicon. Take your cap back off and put the Silicone around the base of the distributor where the cap makes contact when you put it back on. It will water proof the distributor making it hard for this to happen again.
Don;t get the Silicone on the rotor or any of the electrical contact points. You don't want to accidentally insulate them from receiving the spark

It is pretty much the same thing on most vehicles, but I would recommend getting a haynes manual for your van. You should be able to find one at autozone or advance for about 15 dollars. This will give step by step illustrated instructions for what you have to do. If you cant find one for your car then try finding one with the 2.6 liter engine. This was a very common motor and I know for a fact it was also used in the dodge reliants, and you should be able to find one on those. The 2.6 was a mitsubishi motor so it will also be in some mitsu manuals. I am a mechanic and still use a haynes manual on every car I work on. HOPE THIS HELPS!!
