There are so many guns in this country, it would be impossible to take them away. Plus, the illegal traffic from other countries would boom.

You can make a crude one in your garage. What there meaning is that law abiding citizens would either have to turn there guns in or have them taken and criminals have more weapons that regular folks.
Taking away guns from people that have legitimate uses for hunting and protection won't reduce crime. If that is the case then we need to remove all Sharp Pointy Objects: Knives, forks, ice picks, axes, shovels, sticks, broken glass, bones, wire, I would think the list would be endless.

Guns are the issue that nobody can touch, even the democrats know this. They want to grumble but they are going to avoid this in an attempt to get partisan issues passed. Guns are not all registered and criminals are not going to do it...Militia groups have non-registered arms. There are plenty of guns. Guns are here to stay. I only wish we use them responsibly, and become accountable to use them well.

Steal them from the government, lawful owners, manufacturers
Smuggle them in from outside the country (just like in England)
Yes make them in garages, a revolver is 1860-1890 era technology, a $5000 investment for a good metal lathe and your local machinist could make several guns per day ( this is common in the Philippines)

It's not possible for the government to take away ALL the guns. Gun dealers can also bring guns in from other countries. And yes, guns can be home-made, obviously not to the quality of machine-made guns, but they can still fire deadly projectiles.

If you want a gun, you can get a gun. Many of the guns on the streets of the US are bought illegally.
I have guns in my home for sport and self defense. As long as I don't mix the two together, I'm all legal.

I went to a gun show December 30. I'll guess it was attended by a thousand people, and there were over 30,000 guns there. This country would never be able to take guns away from its people.

1)They will not give them up.
2) And you would be able to buy them on the Black Market.
3) AND they really aren't that hard to make if you have access to a machine shop. (Ever hear of zip guns? They are often home made.)

The same place they are getting guns now. From someone's trunk or in someone's basement. Stolen from gun shops, police departments, and law-abiding citizens homes. Do you think they are making them now? Most criminals don't purchase their gear the legal way you know.

Sure. Actually, people who are criminals will always have guns because they will not give them up. Fortunatley, we will have a civil war before the govt. actually takes the guns of citrizens.
