I just had my second child and I really need to figure out what I want to do for my career. How does one go about choosing a career that they will enjoy? I don't want to go to college and spend all that money to find out I don't like what career I chose.

First, do a self-evaluation. Figure out what's your passion. Keep that in mind then go to wetfeet.com and it gives thorough descriptions of careers & the different jobs in each field. Also you can google "personality test" or "career assessment" and alot of free tests that human resource office give you are there. They are really informative and really helpful in helping you determine career paths. Hope this helps!!!

I would reccomend interviewing people in differnet professions. Pick some careers you are interested in then call companies and set up meetings to talk to people in those positions. Many people are very willing to lend thier time. Ask them how they like thier job, whats the best and worst thing about it, how they got to that position.

this way you can see the pros and cons of the stuff you are interested in and what you might need to do to work towards taht career.

You need to figure out what you like doing......like I really like helping people, so I decided that I wanted to work in a hospital....or one of my friends likes playing with kids, so she works at a pediatrician's office, it's whatever you have an interest in, don't get a job, that you know sooner or later you will dread getting up every morning. Just find something that you would like!
GOOD LUCK!

Contact a counselor at your local college and talk with them. They can help you figure out what you want to do. They may have you take a few tests to find your strengths and point you in that direction.

Well, if you are good at talking to people who you don't know, then start as a waitress, or work at an ice cream shop. My sister started working at an ice cream, dessert, shop, and then went on to working at a nice resturaunt. She is in collage taking tourism and hospitality managment, she is only in collage for a year. And then she wants to work for Westjet. Hope this helped!!
