I recently purchased a knock off iPod off Ebay and am not able to figure out how to download songs from iTunes

A knockoff iPod is not an iPod. iTunes only works with iPods and select Motorola phones.

Don't you need an "iPod" to download from iTunes? I don't think you can use any other player with iTunes.
