Best : Ronald Reagan. For restoring integrity to the US.
Worst: Abraham Lincoln: For deliberately starting a war (which he though would be over in a week), that caused the deaths of over 600,000 Americans, plus untold pain and destruction. The Federal Government has been increasing in power over the sovereignty of the states ever since. The Constitution is becoming null and void. Thanks to old "Honest Abe."

Best- George Washington
Worst-George Bush
General Washington (February 22, 1732 – December 14, 1799)led America's Continental Army to victory over Britian in the American Revolutionary War. At Valley Forge in 1777, 2,500 of his 10,000 men died of disease and starvation.
Washington's contribution to victory in the American Revolution was not that of a great battlefield tactician; in fact, he lost more battles than he won, and he sometimes planned operations that were too complicated for his amateur soldiers to execute. However, his overall strategy proved to be successful: keep control of 90% of the population at all times; keep the army intact, suppress the Loyalists; and avoid decisive battles except to exploit enemy mistakes (as at Saratoga and Yorktown).
Washington was elected unanimously by the Electoral College in 1789, and he remains the only person ever to be elected president unanimously (a feat which he duplicated in the 1792 election). Washington took the oath of office as the first President on April 30, 1789 at Federal Hall in New York City.
After serving two terms as President, Washington set a precident followed to this day and voluntarily stepped aside. There were many people who expected that he would declare himself King, and this would not have been oppossed by most Colonists. Instead he humbly served his country and finished his life as a private citizen at Mount Vernon.
WORST-GEORGE W BUSH
He has brought shame and disgrace on the office of the President and caused an increase in the threat of international terrorism. He has turned a record surplus into an astounding deficit that we will be paying for in generations to come.
He has disregarded any advice or opinions not coming directly from his own inner circle, and has caused the United States to become isolated and hated around the world.
He has called the U.N. "irrelevent", and pushed ahead with an unjust and unpopular war which has resulted in an increase in Islamic Fundamentalism and a growing distrust of the United States. This war has also strenghened Al Quada and created thousands more Terrorists under the pretext of fighting Terror.
He has been the most hated and least popular President in the history of the United States, and will continue to be so long after the end of his Presidency.

The worst is Bill Clinton. Look at his lying, cheating, using presidency, and you will be able to SEE why. Did I mention he allowed America to be terrorised many times, and did nothing? The U.S.S Cole attacked in Yemen, a US embassy attacked in Africa, oh and did you ever hear of Black Hawk Down? Responsibility for that lays at Clinton's feet.
The best was Ronald Reagan (Thomas Jefferson is in there, too). The heart, spirit, and love he abounded to America, was an awesome thing. His only mistake was listening to a liberal run congress who wanted him to pull our troops out of Lebanon, and because he did, our good marines were killed in an attack. Thank You Liberals, with you guys at the helm, were all bound to die!
I want to say to Time and Again, you hit the nail on the head. I agree with you 100%. I didn't mention Lincoln, as I wanted to, because I didn't have the words to describe his evil. Thanks for you having them.

Best? Washington. He never sought the office, and tried to get us to stay away from developing political parties, who've done nothing but generate strife and distrust amongst the populace.
Worst? Any president affiliated with a party.

Best was Thomas Jefferson, he established this country on the path of "rule of law not of man" when he refused to shut down the Bank of the United States after taking office. Jefferson also was a man of multiple talents, farmer, inventor, slave-master (not his best moment), wine maker.
Worst is even easier: George Bush Jr. It should be easy to see how ineffective and useless he has been to the American people as a whole. The second worst economy in history (only Hoover was worse.) The most reckless foreign policy since Hitler. That is just the start.
