Go for a walk and see if they stop on their own. If not, then you should call your Dr immediately, because the baby's lungs are not quite ready yet.

Let me tell you that at 35 weeks, the baby is probably fully developed but there is no way to tell if the lungs are or not. The body is but the lungs and nervous steamy may not be ready yet.

I have been going through this with a daughter who is due on Jan. 19th. She has been on bed rest and medication because they are concerned about the baby's lungs. Today they took her off of the medication and they have scheduled a c-section for this Friday. She was supposed to have a c-section on the 11th but they said she will not make it that long.

I have another daughter that they could not stop the labor on and she delivered early. The baby was born 8 weeks early and had to be fl;own to another city because her lungs were not developed. She had health problems the first 2 years of her life.

I say try to carry the baby for just 2 more weeks to be sure it is fully developed. Why take any chances?

I agree with sailor_ch. You will start to feel uncomfortable when the time gets closer, sit in the tub for a while, this will help with the pain (not really). But you do want to get as much exercises as possible, walk, have sex (i did for my first born and i was in labor for 4 hours and pushed once, it was great I wasn't even in pain nor did i feel my contractions), although everyone is different. if your water breaks, go to the hospital, it doesn't nec. mean your baby will come as soon as you think or would like. No matter how close or far apart the contractions are you really don't know until you feel like you have to push and you feel like you have to take a crap. Then you'll know your baby is coming. Good luck mother of 3

no they will probably do the c section now go to the hospital soon because if the baby is breech or whatever circumstances are causing you to have a c section it could be dangerous and then could turn into an emergency!! congrats i hope the recovery is not too rough for you !! by the way the lungs and stuff should be ok you are only a week away from term 36 weeks is term they give you 40 to be safe as conception dates are hard to calculate exactly

Well, although you may be having real contractions, you are not in true labor yet. You won't be until you are like 5-10 minutes apart regularly. You may stop on your own. Are you getting plenty of fluids? Drink a couple tall glasses of water. Can you talk through the contractions, or do they take your breath away? If you can talk, then they are preparatory contractions, not the real thing. Good luck!

35 weeks is relatively safe to have a baby. I was born 6 weeks early and was fine and weighed 6lbs 6 ounces.
Maybe the baby is ready to come out and most babies come when they are ready. Maybe your dates are wrong also.

Your best bet is to speak to your midwife and she will be able to advise you on what is best. But sometimes you could be having contractions 20 minutes apart for weeks, it is when they get to every 5 minutes or your waters break i would worry.

Good luck and congratulations.

I had my baby at 34 weeks and he was very healthy and he weighed 5 lbs and 2 oz and we went home together 2 days later. You need to just go to the hospital and ask them about it and they can monitor you and check the baby to make sure everything is ok. You can have labor stopped and be given steroid injections so that your babies lungs will be more mature. That way if the labor starts up again then the baby will fully be ready.

I wouldn't worry too much just yet. If your water hasn't broken, drink a tall glass of water and lay on your side. They very well COULD just be braxton-hicks. Braxton-hicks are very common 'practice' contractions. Nearly all pregnant women expierence Braxton-hicks contractions. Its your bodies natural way to prepare for labor and delivery. They can range from nearly painless to extremely painful.
If your contractions do not stop, increase in intensity and frequency, or your water breaks call your doctor. Until then drink the glass of water, rest, and keep track of your contractions.
Good Luck.

Are they regular? Call the doctor and ask them. At 35 weeks the baby will have a great chance of survival with no problems, but you need to call your doctor now so that they can see you. Don't waste your time on here.

YES!
You will have a premie. Your babies lungs may not be developed and will probably have to spend some time in the N.I.C.U., is this what you want just because you are tired of being pregnant? I hope not, that's pretty selfish! You have to make it THROUGH your 37th week to be full term and insure that your baby will be healthy enough to come out without any complications.
