In the videotape on which Osama acknowledged his involvement in 9/11, he said that this action would bring many converts to Islam. His reasoning was that this act of terrorism shows that Islam is strong. I'll never forget it: he said, "Would you rather buy a weak horse, or a strong horse? The strong horse, of course!"
A US teenager who was watching this with me responded, "How about a horse that didn't kill 3,000 innocent people?"
No, there were not a lot of conversions to Islam in the US as a result of 9/11.

Do you have proof that many people converted to Islam after 9/11? What exactly do you consider a large population?
Why would you think 9/11 had anything to do with the choice some people make regarding conversion??

A large number of Muslims from the Middle East came to the US to escape how horrible the Middle East has become. I guess they wanted to escape the violence. But I doubt a large number have converted, I would say more Muslims have converted out of Islam now that they are here and the rest of the world is waking up and not afraid anymore. They come to the US and see how peaceful, compared to the Middle East, it is here and think "hey these Christians may have a good idea here and they live in peace, let me try it. I know a great many Kuwaiti's who actually converted out of it and who were very curious about Christianity and other religions !

On what do you base this claim? Where is your evidence? I know you can't produce factual evidence because this is another crack-pot idea dreamed up by the lunatic fringe.
