Basically no. You can call your doctor's office even if you haven't had an appointment and ask the nurse but I don't think that anything is safe right now and I wouldn't take anything that anyone on here suggests without checking with the doctor first. This is a critical time in development for the baby. Try using a fan or sound machine to drown out any extra noise and make the boyfriend/husband sleep somewhere else so that his movement doesn't wake you.

i am struggling with the exact same problem! not only that but when i finally do fall asleep i only sleep for a solid 4 maybe 5 hours if im lucky! maybe try not to nap during the day, if you do. i know that i cant help but take at least a 2 hour nap sometime in the afternoon early evening but if you can make it thru the day that might help. i havent found anything that i can do to help the problem. i was told it happens a lot in your first trimester and there isnt much you can do about it which sucks. hope things get better!

You should ask a doctor fist but the allergy medication, Benadryl is safe unless otherwise advised by your doctor. It will also help with morning sickness, It's an anti-nausea med in addition to helping with ones allergy symptoms. Good luck with your pregnancy, get all the sleep you can now, soon you won't remember what a good nights sleep felt like. God bless you and the baby.

I had this same problem!! I am on my 19th week now, but right at first, I had a really hard time sleeping. You might try hot tea (decaf, of course) and a warm bath before bed. You might also find it nice to know that even if you can't find anything that helps, you'll probably overcome it very quickly. Seems like my insomnia went on for about two weeks. Eventually, your body will adjust to what's going on. Hang in there and know you're not the only one; insomnia is common at any stage of pregnancy.

I was put on Hydroxyzine Pamoate 100 mg. its a perception and it helped me. Ask about that. I was in my third trimester though, I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Hope you find some help.

maybe some herbal tea. But I wouldn't take anything not unless your dr. said it was okay.
You are not suppose to take any medications in your first trimester. Only tylenol regular.

Take a warm bath (not too hot) and climb into bed. I read that your body cooling down will make you tired.
