The Iraqi people can now move on without the specter of Hussein hanging over them. Polls conducted at the beginning of the trial showed how much these people feared Saddam. The majority believed he was going to beat the charges and take control of the country again. This fear though irrational was a strong influence in their lives and now the stigma has been removed.

Lots. Among the accomplishments one could list the previously believed to be impossible act of actually increasing the violence in Iraq. The execution also provided the Sunni's with their greatest martyr. As we shall all learn in the next few months these are accomplishments that will be with the Iraqui and US forces for quite some time.

Saddam was executed just like any mass murderer would be. He committed atrocious crimes, had a trial and was found guilty. What was accomplished? Justice.

It just helped to stir up more s h i t. But I think that was the plan. Another thing to consider, is he had about 20 look a likes. Who knows? I don't trust anything these days.

Saddam killed tens of thousands of Iraqis and did deserve to die (which makes a change for Republicans to say that as they used to be the ones funding him, hell when he gassed the Kurds he did it with US made helicopters).

Mind you Bush killed tens of thousands of Iraqis with the 'shock n we' bombing of Iraq which protected us from......not one weapon of mass destruction. Its a good thing he didnt sign the international war crimes bill isnt it............

It has quelled the fear of many Iraqi's that he would ever return to power. Sometimes you have to remove a symbol of evil in order to look forward.
