Hello! My son is also not vaccinated. You don't have to get your child vaccinated, they can still go to public school (you get exemptions), and it's not wrong to do so. No vaccine is 100% effective, many vaccines are just so a child won't miss school. Vaccinations didn't erradicate diseases-proper nutrition and sanitation has. The latest cases of polio were actually caused by the vaccine. I really suggest researching it, so you're armed with information before you go to a scare-mongering doc plus family members always like to intrude.

There are still so MANY avoidable diseases out there that can be very damaging to a child. Do you truly feel you can bear the consequences of having your child debilitated or possibly even dying as a result of this choice of yours? It is a very serious one. You have the right to take such risks with your own body -- but this is someone else's life you are gambling with. I don't recommend that you do this. Sorry.

They are your children, so it's up to you. But remember, there is a serious reason that the CDC reccomends these vaccinations. and if your children join the military when they are of age, they will get them anyway...them the rules. My question is this: Would you honest to god really rather your children get the measles, chickenpox, mumps or polio? what if any of your children girls? don't you want them to get the vaccine for HPV, to prevent most types of cervical cancer when she is of age? My 10 yr old daughter will be getting that one when she goes for her boosters next summer. I, as her mother, would be destroyed if she developed cervical cancer and there was something I could have done to prevent it. But these are just my humble opinions, and as I said they are your kids and it's your decision.

It is your child no one can tell you what to do. I however would recommend that you do have you child vaccinated because babies are very susceptible to disease and illness in the early stages of life because they are not born with very strong immune systems and some diseases and illnesses can prove to be fatal to newborns. So I really guess you really need to ask yourself if you can bare to put your child at risk of getting sick possibly so sick he/she might not survive even if treated.

I understand your concern. However, how do you think the U.S. eradicated diseases like polio, mumps, measles, etc.? It was from vaccinating everyone! So, in my opinion, it's a bit selfish for some parents to not vaccinate their kids, since these diseases are so rare now. If everyone stopped, they could likely come back!

I don't understand why you wouldn't what what is best for your child. Personally I think it is a poor decision to put your baby in that kind of jepordy.

It's your choice if you don't agree with it then don't just know that your child will be more suspectable to diseases and sicknesses.
