I'm from Dijon although I don't live there anymore. It's a small town (200 000 inhabitants) with a beautiful medieval center. It's very quiet there and there are less things to do than, say, in Paris.
Things to do :
- visit the old center of the town : beautiful medieval buildings and churches.
- go to the restaurant : the food is much better than in Paris. Order a real Burgundian menu.
- If you're interested in wine, you can go to Beaune, a very small town 40 km south of Dijon and visit the vineyards between Dijon and Beaunes.
- In Beaunes, you can visit "Les hospices de Beaunes" a very beautiful medieval hospital.

Have a great time there and welcome !

It's a lovely town that's very walkable. It's got all the requisite restaurants, cafes, shops, cathedrals, etc. I was just there one day, but I liked it.
