I think the quotes should be places as follows:
Rubbing the Genie's "lamp". Not sure what the lamp is but I have a pretty good guess.

It originates from the fairy tale 'Alladin', an arab boy who found a magic lamp in a cave. When he rubbed the lamp, he could summon a good spirit (the genie of the lamp) who would do whatever he (Alladin) commanded. Same thing as the good fairy waving her magic wand to grant you a wish.
