Keep using the Desitin. Is she still having diarrhea? If she isn't, then let her go without a diaper as much as possible until her rash is gone. Of course if she is still having diarrhea then this is not a good idea! :-)
Also, use a soft washcloth and warm water instead of baby wipes. Stay away from using baby powder or cornstarch too until the rash clears up.

I'm of the belief that creams don't work that well... I think that while sealing in the moisture they also seal in bacteria. I had the same thing happen to my daughter... what i did is when changing her, I would let her bottom dry completely and then put some baby powder on it. I also let her soak in the tub every night for at least 20 minutes, then I would rinse her thoroughly and dry her completely. Then I would put on some johnson and johnson 3 in 1 rash treatment... it's the only time of the day that I actually use the cream. Her rash got better after the first day... after 3 days, there wasn't any redness left at all. Now at the first sign of a rash, I do the same thing and it's gone before it even starts. Good luck!

Try giving her a tubby (just on her bottom area) twice a day. Let her go without the diaper as much as possible. If she is eating solids try to stay away from acidic foods and juices as much as possible.
I actually just took my daughter in to the doc for diaper rash becasue it started to look blistery...she put her on a bacterial ointment and also told me to use triple paste. You can buy it at CVS and such. Once the diaper rash becomes so irritated regular creams don't really work. Don't use wipes, even extra sensitive. Use a very wet wash cloth and carefully blot the area and only do this when she poops. Stick her in a tub instead of wiping if some BM seems to be kind of stuck. Wiping will only make her more irritated. If it is getting worse you might have to take her to the pediatrician. Definitely watch out for yeast infections. My daughter doesn't seem to have one, but the doc said if the rash isn't getting better she is going to put her on yeast related products.

Sometimes diaper rash can turn into a yeast infection. My doctor said it is common and prescribed cream for my baby. It healed very quickly after that. Call the doctor.

This is going to sound crazy, but the best thing for diaper rash is Mylanta. Yes the stuff for diarreah. You dab it on a cotton ball and coat her bottom with it, and the next day her diaper rash will be cleared up. I use the regular plain kind. Works like a charm!

Sickness, diarhea, and antibiotics can all cause yeast rash. Go to the pharmacy and get yeast infection or jock itch cream (not the suppositories or the cream in the applicator you insert into your vagina). The external cream.
Apply a small amount three times the first day (the size of a pea), and twice a day thereafter until it clears up. If it doesn't start to look a lot better in 48 hours go to the doctor.
Also if is painful go to the doctor.

If the medicine was an antibiotic she could have a yeast infection. You can use the same cream on her that you would use on you. Apply it only to the out side of her, unless instructed ohterwise by a doctor. If it continues or if this rash startes to cause her pain, contact your doctor.

My mom always said use Vaseline, because it blocks the wetness from the affected area. I used it for minor rashes, but when my son had a bad rash, associated with diarrhea, I had to get prescription Nystatin.

We keep Triple Paste for the very bad rashes. Desitin is more creamy, watery, but Triple Paste really protects them. Just make sure the little butt is completely dry before applying. If it doesn't work after a few days - see her doctor. She/he may prescribe something for yeast related rash.
Good luck
