This is a strange question, and I can't find anything on the WWW. I was changing my 7 month old and noticed he has really light blond pubic hair on his scrotum. It's relatively long but almost invisible because it is very blonde (all my kids are very blonde).
I have two older boys and never noticed this on either one of them...the middle child is two and he is absent of hair in that area.
The baby is a big kid, off the chart in height and in the 90th for weight. Could this be a sign that he has a hormone imbalance? Or am I just paranoid...of course I will be asking the doctor, but I'm curious if anyone else has had this with their kids.

I would talk to your doctor about it.

My baby is a big boy too, way off the charts. And very blonde, but he has no hair on his genitals.

Now I am not saying that is it a problem BUT I know my neighbours girl has really bad leg hair because of all the steroids she is on so it could be a hormone imbalance. Then again it could be normal for your child. If you don't want to look like an idiot in front of your doctor you could always try calling a nurse hotline, if there is one in your area.

LOL, I have not noticed hair in the scrotum area, however my 9 week old has wicked hairy ears, long too. So I hope it ether lightens up or goes away. Its too funny! Maybe he will just be hairy down there. That's not necessarily a bad thing!

Now you got me worrying... :( my son is also big ( was borned 21" *lbs 4 oz) and also has blonde hair on his pubic area.... I didn't think much about it since he has it all over his body (arms, legs, etc)...

I'll ask my doctor and I believe you should do the same.

Maybe its nothing but better make sure ;)

Ask the doctor, but don't overly worry, strange hair patterns happen, my daughter has a triangular patch over her lower spine, and I was told its nothing.

never heard of it but it does sound like some kind of hormone imbalance. definetly ask the doctor and don't let him tell you don't worry about it

In my opinion I would say that there is nothing to worry about but it is wise to double check with your doctor.
