I'm using Windows XP Pro., and have 9 buttons in my Quick Launch section. Every one of them does what they're supposed to do EXCEPT one. I use a Logitech QuickCam on my PC and I have the icon for the camera settings in my Quick Launch. Now; when I click this, not only does QuickCam come up, but so does my Yahoo! Messenger at the SAME TIME, yet I'm only clicking on the QuickCam icon.

None of the other buttons do this, and to the best of my knowledge, this only happens "once". When the computer first boots, and I click Log. QuickCam, that and Yahoo! Mess. come up. When I exit both progs, and click on the QuickCam again, JUST QuickCam comes up. I'm very computer literate and savvy, but this has thrown me for a loop as I've never seen this before. What is causing this and how do I shoot it?

I'm not sure, but I can think of two things that may be happening.
QuickCam may have a setting in it to start a messenger program when it starts. You can look through the preferences for this.

What I think is more likely is that Yahoo! Messenger is set up to start when windows starts (you can turn that behavior off in the settings). It may be that it just so happens that every time you log on, one of the first things you do is hit that QuickCam button, and the time it takes for you to do that is the same amount of time it takes for Yahoo! Messenger to start, so it looks like that button is causing it to happen, but in fact, it is not. Try starting windows and logging in, and not doing anything for 10 minutes. If Yahoo! Messenger starts without you doing anything, then this is probably the issue. Alternatively, look for the "start when windows starts" setting in Messenger and turn it off, then reboot, hit that QuickCam button and see if it happens.

1.Click on the icon which you want in quick launch. 2. Do not remove your finger from the mouse and the clicked icon. 3. Now drag the icon to the Tak bar ( to the right of the start button on the desktop) 4. You get a black circle behind the icon you have dragged. 5. Leave the icon on the task bar. See it becomes a part of the quick launch

Yahoo Messenger can be configured to start when the PC does, so I assume that is why it loads up. I don't think it has anything to do with the click launch button.

As for the previous poster: A shortcut can only point to one file.
