Actually, it's a good (but not a comfortable) thing when I catch myself being a hypocrite. It shows me that I am subject to believing my own BS and that I need to look at whatever it is I am trying to hide from myself. It's an opportunity to grow and become more emotionally healthy.

Yes i have caught my self being a hypocrite, On issues of safety and security and health I justify it. On lesser things I have changed my views. Somethings are just to serious even though it may be hypocritical to say to your child dont smoke when you do, but it you would be negligent if you did not.

I constantly fight to live as a christian. I don't claim to be perfect but want to live right. There are some areas of my life that are easy to do this and some that are more difficult. However, with the people around me in my life I try to be open with my weaknesses and therefore not be hypocritical.
I try not to justify myself but rather take responsibility and change. But due to one of my weaknesses being pride(not the good kind of pride), I sometimes justify myself.

I had to confront myself. I have a "friend" who was getting on my nerves because of certain behaviors and character traits. She was just very judgmental and she turned even the most innocent conversation into a debate about right a wrong. One day I caught myself doing these exact same things and I realized that I needed to change ASAP! Seeing my own behaviors manifested in someone else was a very effective catalyst in changing my ways.

It's funny that you asked that question.
Not so long ago, I was very "Most things are black or white ~ there's no in between." But I began to catch myself contradicting things I had thought I felt one way about. I'm sure I've always done it, I just began to realize it. It helps me see that there is a lot of grey in life and that's okay. And it's helped me realize that I'm not as hard core as I thought!!
Good question!

Absolutely! I have been a hypocrite. It embarrassed me even though no one knew it and then I have never talked about that or done that again. I had to forgive myself.

Well I considered both of my viewpoints and thought about which was wrong and decided based on that.
