I have used Norton, Mcafee and numerous others and on my system by far Panda Platinum, by Panda software is the very best.

I recommend Norton Antivirus. I've noticed it slows down the system the least and works the best.

Norton does slow down your system. Not as much as McAfee, but still does. Also you have to pay for it, and you are stuck with it even if you don't like it. Try AVG Free - you won't even know it's there. After initial set up it'll update automatically and will bother you only in extreme situations!

I use Nortons Internet Security and I have no problems.
The older verisons of Nortorns use to lag the system. Since I installed NIS its smooth sailing. Even when booting.

scans & cleans quickly, easy to update.. and very much effective and does not require more system resource...
