As a member of the Warren Commission that investigated the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Gerald R. Ford suggested that the panel change its initial description of the bullet wound in Kennedy's back to place it higher up in his body.

Perhaps the evidence presented to the commission did not match Mr. Fords knowledge of how a bullet under those circumstances would act. If one recreates the conditions using the proper ballistics materials, you will find that the so called 'Magic Bullet' could have, in fact, caused the wounds in question.

The findings of the Warren Commission are widely disputed, but will remain as the official document in the death of JFK. Another case where official documents are not to be believed whole-heartedly without independent verification.

just read the Warren Report, doesn't say anywhere that Gerald Ford suggested that the bullet wound position be changed
