Due to work, I am temporarily residing in your less than fair state, and I see in the news that you're all ticked about this "new fangled" thing called daylight savings time. Let me assure you it wasn't invented by witches, and it is not the work of the devil. What are you afraid of? Does it confuse the mental processes of a Hoosier to pull out the stem of his watch, turn it back one hour, and then (Ta Da!!!)push the stem back in? I'm not sure what Hoosier means, but by context am I to assume it means idiot?

I like you have moved to the Hoosier state but unlike you I am not of a mindset to think everyone in the state has the mental capacity of a flea. I find most of the "folks" here pleasant and friendly. While I agree that the state has alot of growing and healing to do it doesn't need people like you to generalize what people are thinking. Yes I'm sure some people don't like the daylight savings time. Like the rest of the world some people don't like change. But I'm sure "most Hoosiers" don't need people like you in their state. Remember you are a Hoosier to and are working in the Hoosier state. Try to be a little more positive about where you live and you might see some of the brighter sides of the state. If not we the Hoosiers would not mind if you find the need to leave. Good Luck with your negative thoughts.

I think more or less we Hoosiers feel that daylight savings time is bunk. We've never done it until this year, and it really doesn't make sense to us. If a rational thinker looked at DST, they would see how ridiculous it really is. You're not actually gaining or losing any daylight. You're calling 5 AM "6 AM" and 5 PM "6 PM." I guess what it boils down to is that Hoosiers are sensible people who don't feel the need to change their clocks forward backward and sideways to fit in with the rest of you people.

I don't know why you think Indiana is less than fair, but why don't you ask your boss to be moved to a more "progressive" state?

Hoosier doesn't mean idiot. It either comes from the early settlement days when people answered their door saying "who's here" (which when pronounced quickly sounds like hoosier). Or, it comes from raucous bar fights, in which bar tenders cleaning up would ask, "who's ear?" I think most non-Hoosiers are jealous because their states don't have a nickname to be proud of.

I don't think they're afraid of anything. They probably just don't like the changes.
