Okay all dance games do come with the mat as an option. The best places to find dance games is specialized game stores like Best Buy, EB Games and GameStop or online stores that specialize in dance games like www.ddrgame.com, www.playasia.com, and www.redoctane.com. Places like Wal-Mart and other general department stores are known for only having the latest versions of the game for a few months and then it is not guarenteed from there.

Currently there are four versions of DDR for X-Box (Ultramix 1 through 4, Rated E to E10+, X-Box Live enabled) and DDR Universe comes out to X-Box 360 this month.

As for finding a pad, dance game mats coming in a variety of forms and the more money you put into it the better quality and scores in gameplay you will get.

Soft dance pads are avaiable in the $15 to $25 price range. However their tendancy to slip and slide while playing and the even surface making it impossible to tell where you are stepping without looking down make them inferior to anyone who knows how to play good. In any case I recommend Red Octane's In The Groove official pad with its non-slip texture on the bottom for the best results of this price range. You can find dance pads of this quality virtually anywhere video games are sold.

Hard Foam pads are the best balence between quality and price. The Ignition dance pad by Red Octane has raised buttons to help you feel where you are stepping and the hard foam weighs down the pad and cushions your bare feet while playing. This pad is around $90 but it is worth every penny. Best Buy, EB games, and GameStop are known to sell these otherwise shop online at www.redoctane.com

Hard core dance gamers evolve past the capablities of the first two classes of dance pads. Authentic arcade metal pads are truly superior and are the key to getting "AAA" or "100%" ratings on your expert charts. The Cobalt Flux dance pad is simply reguarded as the ultimate dance pad of all time. Compatible for all platforms including USB, and capable of 4-arrow, 5-arrow, and 6-arrow dance games the Cobalt Flux is definetly the ultimate choice for serious dance gamers. However expect to put down a good $250 for one of these. To find this pad to go http://www.cobaltflux.com

I got it for the PS2 for my wife for Christmas. We're both having fun playing it, although I wouldn't let my friends see me play it. ;) I got it at Toys R Us, but I've seen lots of them at Best Buy, so that'd be a good place too. I got a wireless mat, and I thought it would be a waste of money at the time, but it actually helps because we can fold it up and put it away without dealing with cords.

Try to get both from a video game outlet, like GameStop. Even better, buy it from a little independent store, like in my town, there's a little store called Toys n' Joys. They will probably have it for less and sell it in a 2-pack.
