My skin's turning into a mess, and most of the prescription acne remedies are not pregnancy-safe.

I do eat well, drink lots of water, etc -- not helping. I'd rather not spend the next months indoors, or outdoors looking dreadful.

What's useful? Are cosmetic laser treatments on the face ever performed during pregnancy? Do dermatologists have anything up their sleeves? What OTC remedies are pregnancy-safe and effective for cystic acne, blackheads, etc?

I've been dealing with this for the past 38+ weeks. Nothing I have done has worked. I'm just hoping things go back to normal after the baby is born. Good Luck!

I wouldn't recommend any laser treatments during pregnancy or any medication. This is a not-so-great side effect of pregnancy. Continue drinking water and eating well and try a very mild cleanser, such as Cetaphil. A light, oil-free moisturizer would work, also. The only thing that can make this go away is time. Good luck.

Most women don't have bad acne all nine months usually just the first three, so you probably won't have to be a hermit for ten months (yes I said ten not nine). Really all you can do is to make sure to wash your face morning and night use a moisturizer and try not to wear make up all the time. Like when I know I won't see anybody or be going out for the day I go make up free.

I found a foundation that heals and conceals blemishes. I had to same problem at the beginning of my pregnancy, then I started using that and now its all gone. I think the foundation is by Almay. Good Luck and Happy New Year!

Benzoyl Peroxide is fine to use in pregnancy and if you stick with this treatment it WILL work. Try it but use a good moisturiser as its very drying to the skin.
