Actually it's normal either way. Some women suffer greatly with morning sickness and so they tend to lose alot of weight and then once the morning sickness settles down they begin to gain weight.
Then there are the "Lucky Ones" the ones who don't suffer from morning sickness and so they begin to gain weight right away.
Some women may not suffer from morning sickness to the degree of throwing up but have nausea a great deal of the time.So they tend to back off of eating in an attempt to ease the nausea. So they don't gain weight right away either.
All of these scenario's are normal. So don't fret hun whatever your situation its probably normal:)
Enjoy your pregnancy and I hope its a happy and comfortable one without incident...
Blessed Be,
M.Gard

You can loose weight the first trimester because you are dealing with morning sickness. I lost 10 pounds but gained it all and then some back before I delivered. If it keeps going down, see your doctor but I wouldn't really worry much.

A lot of women loose weight, especially during the first trimester if you experience morning sickness. I believe the norm to gain is 25-30lbs. I would just check w/ your doctor next time you see him/her. I had preeclampsia and gained almost 70 (NOT fun, lol).

This is something that I'd mention to your doctor, you might not be getting enough nutrients. As long as you're feeling OK, I wouldn't worry too much. Try eating 6 small meals throughout the day and drink a lot of water.

Its normal early in pregnancy to lose weight because of morning sickness. but you should be over that now at 14 weeks you are in your 2nd trimester. just as long as you are eating healthy, getting protein, calcium, folic acid and unsaturated fats, you should be ok. i am 3 weeks pregnant and i hope i lose weight.lol
