Is it just me? Am I the only one who is TIRED of the FAA and other Federal authorities endlessly treating Highly Trained Professional Pilots like small children who don't know what the *moon* is or don't know what *cloud cover* looks like?

I mean, really....compare this to your average Police Officer. They get guns. We trust their judgement rather blindly when it comes time for them to exercise Probable Cause--essentially their ability to Know a Criminal When They See One. Good people after bad ones *routinely* get shot over this. Yet nobody complains.

Now look at the pilots. We don't trust them to *know* a Flying Object when they see one?? Even though they are in charge of one *every stinking day*?

And before someone coughs up the "Radar didn't show anything" argument....we've had *local* stealth aircraft (starting with the SR-71 Blackbird) like this for decades. It doesn't wash.

So what's wrong with this picture? What say you? :)

Preventing panic and chaos? Huh?

And yet this Federal Aviation Administration couldn't be bothered to watch out for 19 hijackers back in September of 2001? Hmm, I guess they weren't officially allowed to believe in Terrorists either until we had to bury *good citizens by the thousands*.

And the pisser? All the hijackers had was a) a plan we didn't *want* to see coming, and b) a bunch of box cutters nobody was looking for.

I'd be willing to bet that if someone was *able* to get here from several hundreds of *light years* away, they'd have the potential for *Much Worse* up their sleeves than just slicing throats with box cutters.

We need to start taking this stuff seriously, at least on the level of potential diplomacy...if we can't even handle our own people inflicting acts of terror upon us, well, what would that say about our chances if our First Contact went like 9-11?

Am I the only one who sees this? I'm not trying to be some hippie here, just careful is all.

i concur! i guess the government doesn't want to acknowledge the fact that they can't control everything that happens here, so they surpress evidence and ignore people's testimonies even if these people are experts in their field.

me, i think that there is life outside of earth. we live in a big universe that is mostly unexplored, how can we come to the conclusion that we are alone?

also, ufos have been sighted for centuries and by large groups of people. can millions of people be wrong? yeah, maybe some people made mistakes and identified natural phenonmena or aircrafts as ufos. but that doesn't mean that the majority did not see what they saw. mass hallucinations? I doubt it.

As an LDS person you believe there is an age of accountability. Young children cannot be held responsible for sins they cannot comprehend. For instance, It would not be a sin for a 1 year old to steal a candy bar from another child. The 1 year old doesn't know better and needs to be taught. The same logic applies, according to LDS doctrine (conference talks), with mental illness. It would not be a sin for that person to break a commandment they cannot comprehend. Your quote from Apostle M Russell Ballard was from a talk addressing those circumstances when a person is not capable of understanding their actions. He said only God can judge what is going on within that person's mind. I give you a thumbs up for your previous response. Please keep in mind that many people who use the yahoo answer sight for religious questions, really don't have questions. All they are really looking for is a way to preach their beliefs and criticize others.

I'm certain the FAA is also exhausted from all the work these UFO's are cutting out for them. Imagine the difficult task the FAA has to cook up everytime a UFO pops up anywhere in our backyard. Also, the embarrasment for the FAA in using the "Weather Phenomenon" to explain a dark metallic object hovering in the sky during daylight?

I'm sure they could have brainstormed or picked out better ones than that. And since they didn't, they may find themselves in the media for being criticized and questioned by individuals and organizations regarding their own credibility.

Preventing panic and chaos from breaking loose on earth is not an easy job; someone has to do the dirty job.

There are no other beings from other planets, but yes there are
secrets being kept by the government, secrets that the government will not share due to wide spread distruction from panic and fear of the unknown.I am not a bible thumper but set aside the "praise the lord" and the "hallaluyas" and research this book called the bible and you will be amazed at what you will find. There are explanations for these sightings. The bible is our history book and our future foretold.I don't go to church so do not make accusations and call me any kind of bible freak. All I know is what I read.THANK-YOU, M.E.
