I do, should I find out and not tell anyone? I think I can keep the secret.

Firstly, Congratulations!

If your wife is OK with it and your sure you can't let slip a "he" or "she" for the whole pregnacy. What would you do about names? pretend to pick out both?

Some couples do manage to let one parent find out and not the other successfully.

Why do you want to know? There is plenty of time for buying a baseball mitt or frilly dress.

Mainly, you should be asking your wife. It would be wrong to find out without her knowledge.

what you can do is that during the ultrasound tell the person that is doing the screen write it on a piece of paper, put it in an envelope so that you can look at it later after that throw it away or burn it, do whatever you have to if she doesn't what to see it.my wife and i went through the same situation but we didn't do that because the situation was that she couldn't find anything for the baby room to match up color wise and accessories wise too.So we went ahead and find out the sex of our child.
hope that helps alittle

That's a very hard secret to keep. I would just wait until the birth, or try to talk her into finding out. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and CAN'T WAIT to find out. God didn't give me patience or a love for unisex colors (only green, yellow and white?!... just can't do it) The doc told me today she thinks it's a boy! I'll find out for sure next week.

if she goes along with this, get the regular ultrasound and make sure the dr understands she does NOT want to know, only YOU do. she can even look away so she does not see anything. the dr can tell you in his office while she is not in there. but, I think you two should agree on something like this. I don't think you will be able to keep the secret.

You need to talk to your wife about this. Ask her if it's okay that you know. But be beware, once you know this information it's goign to be very very difficult for you to keep it a secret. All it takes is one slip of the tongue ("i can't wait for her to get here") and all is ruined for your wife. My husband and I have decided not to find out - so much more fun that way!

you can if you want. my wife didn't want to either, and so i agreed, and it was the best because it made the event of having hte baby so much more special. it made it made it an even bigger event because we were finding out the sex and not just waiting for it to arrive. alot more to anticipate.

Personally, I think if she doesn't want to know you should respect her wishes and be surprised along with her.
