There was a game called Scotland Yard that I remember playing as a kid that was pretty cool. You might be able to find it on ebay. - - - 2-player strategy games are tough to come by. Stratego and chess are probably the best two. Most of the good strategy games we've found are better with 4 or 5 people.

The Davinci Code for 2 players is a must own! There is a time and place for everything in this game, solving early clues may benefit the opposing player.
